$75,000 for upgrades at Crozier Field announced
LISMORE MP Thomas George has announced $75,000 towards Stage 2 of the Crozier Field upgrade, which will see the installation of a new grandstand with an accessible viewing area.
"As the home of the Lismore Old Boys Rugby League Football Club, Crozier Field has again benefited from the NSW Footy Facilities Fund and today's funding announcement will go a long way in keeping Rugby League accessible to the people of Lismore," Mr George said.
"The NSW Footy Facilities fund is a terrific initiative of the National Rugby League (NRL) and the NSW government that helps grassroots footy clubs such as the Lismore Old Boys Rugby League Football Club.
"The program targets a number of areas including increasing participation, safety and security, environmental sustainability, social inclusion and building strong communities.
"The main objectives of the Footy Facilities Fund are to increase regular and on-going participation opportunities in Rugby League and improve the standard of Rugby League grounds and facilities."
NRL Head of Football, Todd Greenberg, said grassroots facilities were crucial to the success of Rugby League.
"We want every participant across NSW to play footy at safe, secure and high quality venues," Mr Greenberg said.
"This program not only improves facilities at local footy clubs but it provides the services needed to enable more boys and girls, and people with disabilities, to be part of our game.
"And that is crucial because there is a place for everyone in rugby league."
