Woman charged after 'baby' graffiti

The mystery over graffiti scrawled over a Melbourne suburb, where a woman urged a man called Chris to "talk to me before the baby's born", has been solved.

Residents in the Melbourne bayside suburb of Frankston were baffled at the purple scrawl covering walls, buildings and public barbecues reading: "Chris, you need to talk to me before the baby's born, or don't bother after."

The mystery mum allegedly took it upon herself to give the traditional methods of baby announcements an artistic makeover.

Police on Wednesday confirmed a 36-year-old woman has been charged with criminal damage, wilful damage, mark graffiti and commit indictable offence whilst on bail.

It is alleged property in a number of locations in Frankston's CBD was vandalised between 29 and 30 July.

The woman has been bailed to appear at the Frankston Magistrates' Court on December 13.

The street art announcement was first noted by the Frankston Community Noticeboard, who indexed the photos of the scathed expectant mummy.

"Chris... Can you please just call her before she destroys the whole city? Don't forget if you see graffiti, you can report it to council via Snap Send Solve," their post reads.
