Beef Week buskers back on the beat this year
MUSICIANS, singers, artists and buskers take note: Casino Beef Week wants to hear your musical skills.
Whether it is country, folk, hip hop or pop performers in the Northern Rivers are encouraged to sign up for the Country IT Busking Competition taking place during Beef Week this year.
The competition will be held in the Casino CBD from Monday, May 23 until Friday, May 27.
Beef Week President Stuart George said he is calling on people from across the region to join in the fun.
"The Country IT Busking Competition will show how many talented performers we have in our town and across the Northern Rivers region," he said.
"The competition is the perfect platform for artists to showcase their talents to the thousands of visitors during the NCMC Casino Beef Week and perhaps walk away with some great prize money."
There will be a stage performance for the best three performers on Friday, May 27 in Walker St during the famous Richmond Dairies FREE Breakfast with the Butchers, where over 3,000 people head to town. Additionally, a healthy cash prize will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd best performer which is proudly sponsored by Country IT.
Country IT co-owner Michael Greentree enjoyed last year's first run of the busking competition so much that he wanted to support it to welcome more buskers in town during Beef Week.
"The busking competition creates an electric atmosphere throughout the streets of the Casino CBD that isn't often felt, and that excites people. It's inspiring to see local performers from all backgrounds and abilities given an opportunity to showcase their talents in our town during the NCMC Casino Beef Week Festival," he said.
