VIDEO: Victim of fatality at Alstonville still unnamed
UPDATE 5.30PM: POLICE are yet to formally identify the man killed in today's crash on the Bruxner Hwy near Alstonville.
Speaking to media this afternoon, Acting Inspector Brad Walpole said the man's identity is yet to be confirmed by police.
Insp Walpole said the male truck driver was taken to hospital for mandatory testing and further medical checks.
The truck driver has also spoken to officers at Ballina Police Station.
Insp Walpole said a friend travelling with the man has spoken with police about the crash.
UPDATE, 3pm: THE Bruxner Highway has reopened eastbound in Alstonville after an earlier fatal truck and motorcycle accident.
The highway had been closed eastbound at Alstonville Cemetery Road.
There are no delays for motorists in the area.
UPDATE, 2.30pm: ALL westbound lanes of the Bruxner Highway have reopened in Alstonville after a fatal truck and motorcycle accident.
The highway is still closed eastbound at Alstonville Cemetery Rd.
Police have also confirmed this afternoon that it was the motorcyclist who died in the crash.
"A motorcyclist has died after his motorcycle and a B-Double collided near Alstonville," the police statement said.
"The crash occurred around 11.40am today. It is believed the motorcyclist had just travelled down the Alstonville off-ramp prior to the crash.
"The male motorcyclist died at the scene.
"The male truck driver stopped after the crash.
"He was taken to hospital for mandatory testing and further medical checks."
Eastbound motorists who cannot delay their trip and need to travel can use Bangalow Rd to Bangalow and then the Pacific Highway to Alstonville.
Motorists are advised to allow additional travel time.
Emergency services remain at the scene cleaning up.

The Bruxner Hwy is closed in both east and west directions and diversions are in place.
UPDATE 12:50pm: MOTORISTS are being advised to avoid the area, but diversions are in place.
Motorists travelling from Bangalow to Lismore are advised to use Lismore-Bangalow Road.
Eastbound traffic are still being diverted through Alstonville.
Police have advised that people travelling from Ballina to Lismore should use Gap Rd, but those travelling east towards Ballina are being diverted along Sneaths Rd and Pearces Creek Rd.
The Bruxner Highway is expected to be closed up to 2.30pm.
UPDATE 12.20pm: Police at the scene have confirmed it is a very serious crash but won't confirm any fatalities at this stage.
FRIDAY 12pm: NSW Ambulance media have confirmed paramedics have been called to reports of a crash believed to be between a truck and a motorcycle.
The incident is reported to be on the Bruxner Highway at Alstonville, in the east bound lane heading towards Ballina.
It occurred just after 11.30am.
Traffic heading eastbound is being diverted through Alstonville via Ballina Road.
Traffic is backed up to Sneaths Road, Wollongbar.
Westbound diversions are not known at this time.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area by using appropriate diversions.
