Byron gets all-clear after shark scare

BYRON Bay beaches have re-opened this morning after a shark scare saw them closed from The Wreck up to Tallow Beach from midday yesterday.

Life guards had checked the surf on jet skis this morning with no shark sightings, Northern NSW Lifeguard co-ordinator from Surf Lifesaving Australia, Scott McCartney said

Mr McCartney said they would continue to monitor the situation.

Yesterday lifesavers spotted shovelnose sharks, leopard sharks and possibly some bronze whalers.
