
Casino students fight it out in Beef Week school challenges
BEEF Week saw school students battle it out for supremacy in the Primary and High School Cups in Casino.
The battle fields included Colley Park, the archery field at Queen Elizabeth Park and the junior rugby league grounds through a range of sports including soccer, rugby league, netball, volleyball and archery.
Schools involved in the primary school cup included Casino, Casino West, St Mary's Catholic College, Manifold, Stratheden and Casino Christian.
The overall Primary School Beef Week Cup winner was the All Stars, a combined team made up of Casino West, Casino Christian, Manifold and Stratheden.
The Beef Week High School Challenge was between Casino and St Mary's.
The overall results of the matches between the two high schools saw St Mary's retain ownership of the shield for the fourth year in a row.
St Mary's had won six games, Casino two and there were two draws.
St Mary's principal Aaron Beach said he looked forward to Casino principal Neil Schneider's visit to their assembly this week, wearing the St Mary's jersey.
