Cat Power comes back to the Court
RECOVERED and ready, Chan Marshall aka Cat Power returns as promised with a new set of dates, at the same select venues.
Cat had been set to perform at the Lismore Star Court Theatre on February 13, before her Australian shows were cancelled due to illness.
The singer's management confirmed she suffers from Hereditary Angioedema (HAE), a potentially fatal rare blood disease that causes swelling around the throat, oesophagus and internal organs.
However, now she's recovered and coming back to perform as promised.
Tickets for all previous shows remain valid for the new dates with a on-sale date of Friday March 4 set for all remaining tickets.
"I've been looking forward for so long to return to my home away from home and I wasn't going to let this debilitating illness deprive me or anyone else of that opportunity. I'm so glad to be making it back to Australia," Cat said.
The Georgia-born singer/songwriter has been a long time fan of Australia - its audience and its people - dating back to 1997 and her first visit at the behest of Dirty Three/Xylouris White drummer Jim White.
Don't miss this rare opportunity to see Cat Power Solo: Up Close and Intimate, playing songs old and new ahead of new album recording this autumn.
All tickets on sale Friday March 4.
Cat will play the Star Court Theatre, Lismore, on Thursday May 19.
