Cosmetic surgery prize is a hit with nightclub patrons
WINNING a humble meat tray has become a thing of the past - cosmetic surgery is Mackay's giveaway of choice.
Tryst nightclub and ID Rejuvenation Travel are the latest Mackay businesses to jump on the trend.
They've teamed up to offer one club-goer their choice of any cosmetic surgery - in Thailand.
ID client services manager Amy Price said the competition, which was launched last weekend, had already generated a lot of interest from both male and female patrons.
She said while most enquired about breast augmentation, many were also considering dental work, laser corrective eye surgery and other cosmetic procedures like nose jobs, liposuction and eye-lifts.
All you need to do to enter is spend $50 on drinks at Tryst.
Ms Price said cosmetic surgery was very popular in Mackay but it wasn't in everybody's budget.
"I know probably 10 girls that have just got breast implants this month," she said.

Ms Price, who has also had breast implants, said for many women it was about gaining self-confidence.
"It's good to have that kind of perspective to tell girls about it when they come up and ask."
Ms Price said there was also an opportunity to relax and do some sightseeing while in Phuket.
"We had a testimonial by one girl who had the surgery one day and spent the next day drinking cocktails by the pool," she said.
The competition covers flights, five nights accommodation and the surgery.
Patrons are given a punch card upon entry and once they've spent $50 their name can go in the draw. They can enter as many times as they like.
The winner will be drawn at the end of the July.
