Council offers use of trailers to dispose of flood waste

LISMORE City Council is offering use of trailers to get rid of their flood-related waste.

The council has two courtesy trailers at the Lismore Recycling and Recovery Centre available for use by flood-affected residents, they have said.

Council is offering free disposal of flood-damaged goods at the waste facility until further notice, and residents and community groups are welcome to book the trailers to move their waste.

"We would remind people to be careful when loading and disposing of flood debris and to always wear gloves and sturdy shoes," Commercial Services Coordinator Kevin Trustum said.

Free disposal of waste is available to all flood-affected residents.

Please bring proof of residency and waste items will be inspected for flood/water damage.

Mr Trustum also advised that some waste collection services may have been disrupted due to the weekend's flooding.

"If your bin has not been collected on its regular day due to floodwaters please leave it out and we will be back as soon as possible to collect it," he said.

If your bin has not been collected after a few days or you wish to book one of the courtesy trailers, phone Council on 1300 87 83 87.
