Crusaders leave sour taste for McKenzie
RUGBY UNION: The Reds' season ended last night when the Crusaders dismantled them 38-9 in Christchurch.
The home side did a superb job nullifying Queensland playmakers Will Genia and Quade Cooper in the qualifying final.
It was Ewen McKenzie's last game in charge of the Reds, following his appointment this month as the Wallabies' new mentor.
With All Blacks five-eighth Dan Carter orchestrating the Crusaders' attack, the Kiwi side was simply too good, although Queensland made too many errors.
The Crusaders led 21-6 at half-time.
Queensland was unable to cross for a try, with all its points coming from Cooper's boot.
