Cubs' World Series win makes waves in the Vatican
BASEBALL: There now could be a Cubs cap taking pride of place somewhere in the Vatican.
After Chicago's amazing drought-breaking World Series win earlier this month, Pope Francis has received a blue Cubs cap and a baseball signed by the team from Chicago Archbishop Blase Cupich, who posted a photo on Twitter.
"News of the @Cubs win reached all the way to the #Vatican! @Pontifex can now celebrate with us and he asks for our prayers,” Cupich tweeted.
The Argentinean pope, who is, no surprise, a big soccer fan, will ordain Cupich as a cardinal on the weekend, but before that came the important matter of talking baseball.
The Cubs needed a miracle to win their first title in 108 years. They won the best-of-seven match-up after coming back from a 3-1 deficit.
