Aussie designers spring surprises at New York Fashion Week
LOOKS seen in the spring collections shown at New York Fashion Week have been similar to the pops of colour being seen in parks around Toowoomba.
Top designers, including Australian names Zimmermann and Sass & Bide, will make up nearly 100 shows and events over the eight days of fashion, which kicked off last week.
New York's Mara Hoffman sent out a "gang of rainbow warriors", with pieces inspired by colour, light and happiness.
Keeping it a little more understated was Victoria Beckham, who once again received praise for her simple yet chic collection.
Watched by husband David Beckham and daughter Harper, Victoria's collection was full of mainly black and white, with a few pops of fuchsia to brighten it up.
Gown-designer extraordinaire Monique Lhuillier once again showcased a show filled with breath-taking dresses using an abundance of coral, red and orchid to create the glamorous collection.
Celebrity-favourite Diane von Furstenberg attracted the likes of Jessica Alba, Sheryl Crow and Rachel Zoe to her show, where she sent out a playful and edgy collection filled with prints and colour.
