Baseball: Easts, Workers warm up for play-offs with wins

EASTS defeated Norths 4-1 and Workers outclassed Brothers 17-2 in the final competition round of Far North Coast Major League baseball on Saturday.

It was a tight game between Easts and Norths, with the first scoring opportunity not coming until the fifth innings.

Easts grabbed a run only to see Norths level the scores in their turn at bat.

Luke Davis scored from a Bronson McNiff hit for Easts to regain the lead in the sixth.

They sealed the game in the seventh with two more runs from solid batting by Will Riley, Robbie Pruess and Luke Davis.

Davis had a great day with the bat with four hits

Details from the other game were unavailable, although the result should boost Workers' confidence ahead of the best-of-three preliminary final contest against Brothers on Baxter Field starting on Friday night.
