Elderly fisherman rescued after falling off North Wall
AN ELDERLY fisherman has been taken to hospital with a suspected broken leg after falling on Ballina's North Wall this morning.
A NSW Ambulance spokeswoman said police and paramedics were called to the North Wall at 10.30 am after reports a fisherman in his 70's had fallen.
The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter was tasked to assist was was called off enroute.
The man was treated at the scene before being taken by ambulance to Lismore Base Hospital in a stable condition with a suspected fractured leg.
