Far North Coast duo impresses for NSW Country at nationals
FAR North Coast cricketers Andrew Lindsay and Justin Moore helped NSW Country finish third in the Australian Country Championships at Bendigo.
Lindsay took two wickets in the final game against East Asia Pacific on Monday.
NSW Country went on to have a nine-wicket win chasing down a target of 185. Middle-order batsmen Lindsay and Moore were not required in the run chase.
They would have likely spent time together at the crease as they were named to bat at No.5 and No.6.
Queensland Country won the competition with three wins, one loss and a draw at the week-long carnival.
NSW Country beat Queensland in a one-day game in the second round.
Moore was the second highest run-scorer in that game with 50.
He finished the carnival with 75 runs from three innings.
Lindsay had limited opportunity with the bat but did top-score with 38 to lead the side to a win against Western Australia Country on Sunday.
He missed the Queensland game and was mainly used for his bowling.
The all-rounder managed to take seven wickets in the four games he played.
Tim Cox was the only player from NSW named in the Australian Country team at the end of the competition
Lindsay and Moore will play the second day of Far North Coast LJ Hooker League on Saturday.
Both played first grade in Sydney before moving to the region in 2013.
