FIRST LOOK: Multi-million dollar shopping precinct now open

EXCITED families have flocked to the grand opening of Woolworths' new store in the Mercato on Byron precinct.

Some shoppers said they were emotional to be a apart of the new development, as it was a long time coming, while others said they just want to get in do their shopping and leave before crowds the old Woolworths was known for.

Woolworths will celebrate with speeches and a dance performance before doors open at 8am.
