Beef Week boss buys ‘steak’ in local restaurant
IT SEEMS appropriate that the man who is the face of Casino Beef Week has recently bought the Clydesdale Motel and Steak Barn in Casino.
Stuart George announced on Facebook last night that he, wife Margaret and business partners have taken over the iconic steakhouse located on the Bruxner Highway heading towards Lismore.
"We are very much looking forward to what lies ahead with our new venture and what the Clydesdale has to offer," he posted
"We would like to wish Barry and Lorna (previous owners) all the best with their retirement and I hope they get to enjoy a well earned rest like they deserve."
Mr George said for at least the first six to 12 months nothing will change at the motel/restaurant.
"We will spend the first few months getting to know the ins and outs of the business," he said.
"We have some plans but they may be some time away yet."
Mr George said he has been involved with pubs in the Grafton area before but looks forward to running the steak barn.
"(The business) is unique to the Northern Rivers and we will cement it's name around the area," he said.
"We kept it pretty quiet but it settled yesterday and so thought we would announce it.
"We have been overwhelmed by all the lovely comments people have written to us on Facebook."
