Historical Society shows wartime Lismore with walking tour

SEE how Australia's participation in the wars of the 20th century were experienced in Lismore on this guided walking tour of Lismore's CBD.

The history tour will be hosted by Richmond River Historical Society and will highlight sites associated with the enlistment and training of troops, patriotic organisations, parades and other wartime events, and memorials to those who served.

In 2015 the theme of History Week will focus on the history of nation building, nationalism and national identity as the products of both peaceful and violent processes.

Tours meet at Lismore Gallery, Molesworth St, Lismore. The first tour will take place Saturday, September 5 from 10am to noon and the second tour will take place on Saturday, September 12 from 10am to noon.

Bookings are essential, limit of 15 places per tour. The cost is $10 General, $8 Concession, $25 Family
