Hogan has a beef with Rocky over who is the capital
WHEN Kevin Hogan stood up in Federal Parliament he wasted no time letting the politicians know that Casino was the Beef Capital of Australia.
"Others claim it, they are delusional," the Member for Page said.
He nodded to the Deputy Speaker and Member for Capricornia, Michelle Landry, and said: "Sadly, you think Rockhampton is the Beef Capital of Australia".
She laughed off the beef rivalry.
Mr Hogan mentioned the volunteers, as well as cow pat lotto, which might have left some parliamentarians scratching their heads.
He acknowledged sponsors, including the NCMC and the Express Examiner.
"I get two minutes every week to speak in Parliament," he said.
"I always use that time to speak about the community."
His voice is being heard, with the Beef Week capital video reaching more than 21,000 people through social media. The video has been watched 7000 times and shared by 65 people.
With an election announced for July 2, the video is a timely reminder to voters about what local members can do for their communities.
Janelle Saffin is the Labor candidate for Page, with her supporters determined to bring her back.
There will be a lot more words from all politicians in the lead-up to the election.
