Kids enjoy family fun day
SUN and family fun were the order of the day on Sunday for the Beef Week Family Fun Day held at the Casino Village RV Resort.
Amusement rides kept the kids amused, live entertainment, markets and food stalls kept the rest of the family entertained and fed.
Channel Nine's Today Show weather crew added a bit of star attraction to the event.
The Beef Week fly-in muster was also a big hit with vintage and modern aircraft plus a paraglider descending on the Casino aerodrome adjacent to the RV Village.
Tickets on the Lachlan Valley Railway steam train were also highly prized.
Beef Week president Stuart George estimated about 2000 attended the fun day.
"The sun was shining and the markets were well visited," he said.
"We were fortunate enough to have the weekend Today Show in town and they did six live crosses from the Family Day.
"They were a hit and the crosses were beamed around Australia which was a huge bonus and a huge promotion for Beef Week and Casino.
"They were impressed with our event and couldn't get over how friendly the Casino community was."
Casino Aero Club president Russell Kennedy said more children than ever attended the fly-in muster.
"During a fly-in we showcase aviation and we open our aero club for families and children to come out and experience flying," Mr Kennedy said.
"War-bird adventure flights were available and we even had Tiger Moths come in from Tyagarah.
"The children had a good day looking at the antique aircraft and there were some modern machines as well, so they had a good broad spectrum of aviation to have a look at."
