Lindsay rescues NSW Country in Bendigo

ANDREW Lindsay top-scored for NSW Country against Western Australia Country in the fourth round of the Australian Country Cricket Championships in Bendigo yesterday.

The Lennox Head all-rounder batted at No 9 and scored 38 as his side were bowled out for 140 in a one-day game.

Middle-order batsman Kaine Harmsworth was the second highest contributor with 20 while Ballina Bears batsman Justin Moore scored 17.

Lindsay went on to take two wickets as WA were dismissed for 119.

WA were 8-35 before Shayne Bidwell sparked a revival, scoring 45.

On Saturday, a two-day game between NSW Country and South Australia Country was abandoned after heavy rain.

Lindsay bowled four overs on Friday but did not take any wickets with South Australia on 9-189at stumps.

The game ended in a draw after no play was possible on Saturday.

NSW Country will finish its campaign against East Asia Pacific in a one-day game today.
