Woman arrested over alleged stabbing of ex-partner

WEDNESDAY: A WOMAN has been arrested and charged over the alleged stabbing of her ex-partner at Tallow Beach on Monday evening.

Tweed Byron Detective acting Inspector Claudia Allcroft said police investigating the stabbing of a 41-year-old man on Beachcomber Drive at Tallow Beach attended an address at Lennox Head shortly before 3pm on Tuesday.

"A 33-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Ballina police station," she said.

Det act Insp Allcroft said the woman was charged with reckless wounding, contravening an apprehended violence order, malicious damage, driving while suspended, driving under the influence of alcohol and breaching bail.

The woman was refused bail and will appear at Lismore Local Court today.


TUESDAY: BYRON police are searching for a 33-year-old woman who is a suspect in the stabbing of her ex-partner in Byron Bay late yesterday.

Tweed-Byron police Acting Inspector Claudia Allcroft siad police were called to a home on Beachcomber Drive near Tallow Beach at 6.30pm on Monday night.

"Police attended and located a 41-year-old man with stab wounds," she said.

"He was taken to Byron Bay Hospital where he is in a stable condition.

"A crime scene was established and police from Tweed-Byron Local Area Command are investigating."

The man's ex-partner, a 33-year-old woman, is sought by police and anyone who can assist in the investigation is advised to contact police or call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
