Music star will welcome 2017 at Falls Byron Bay
CHILDISH Gambino will be welcoming 2017 with a music show at Falls Festival Byron Bay set to start at 00:01am in the new year.
The playing sets for all Falls locations were released this morning, showing that besides Gambino, the gold-themed New Year's Eve celebration at all Falls locations will be a big party.
On December 31, the music will start at North Byron Parklands at 1.30pm with North East Party House, Brisbane rapper Mallrat at 3pm, Spit Syndicate from 4pm, and 1980s-themed duo Client Liaison from 5.30pm.
The evening proceedings for New Year's Eve at North Byron Parklands will start with Broods from 7pm, and then at 8.30pm pioneer DJ and urban music legend Grandmaster Flash will start spinning the decks.
Hot Time Dub Machine will provide entertainment from 10pm until 11.30pm, with American artist Childish Gambino announced to hit the stage a minute after the arrival of 2017.
The January 1 set list revealed The Avalanches and The Rubens as headliners, both with gigs at 11pm on separate stages.
On January 2, closing the festival will be Australian DJ Alison Wonderland and Melbourne rapper Remi.
The Comedy Club stage is back again to North Byron Parklands.
Hitting the stages (and your funny bones) this summer will be Stevenson Experience, Aunty Donna, Joel Creasey, Gen Fricker, Andy Saunders, Ivan Aristeiguieta.
At The Grove area, the comedy will be delivered by Gordan Southers, Lindsay Webb and local comedian Mandy Nolan.
Falls Festival also confirmed today that the allocation of tickets for Northern Rivers locals has been exhausted.
As well as a ticket, you will require a pre-purchased Car Pass if you plan to drive to the festival site.
Organisers have warned that punters who arrive without a Car Pass will end up paying a lot more at the gate, and they are encouraging everyone to be prepared and pre-purchase.
