DURING the winter solstice a small Viking village popped up in the middle of Lismore.

Vikings, resplendent in armour emerged from tents to drink mead and to discuss battle plans around campfires.

The village was designed by the local medieval re-enactment society Rognvald's Lith as part of the Lismore Lantern Parade festivities and continues to get more popular every year.
