Prayer call as Abi fights for her life again
THE Wilkinson family needs Gladstone's prayers as three-year-old Abi fights to recover from a major setback on Sunday.
A partially collapsed lung and brain seizure has little Abi fighting for her life.
Showing strength beyond her years, Abi has time and again defied death after she was left a quadriplegic on April 4 after a horrific head-on collision in Logan.
The region has donated to the Dig Deep for Abi appeal which is close to the $50,000 mark.
Her determined support network led by mother Tanya and father Paul, continues to keep a bedside vigil.
"She has had a very, very rough three weeks since her last surgery," Mrs Wilkinson said.
"It's been a major setback to her health.
"We are very lucky she has no permanent brain damage as a result of the seizure.
"She now needs time to recover which will be very slow."
The health complications were believed to have stemmed from poor ventilation.
It will take a minimum of four weeks for her lungs to start to recover.
