Regional Development Australia looking for fresh faces
EXPRESSIONS of interest are being sought from business and community leaders to join Regional Development Australia Northern Rivers.
The Nationals Duty Senator for Richmond John Williams says the Deputy Chair and Committee positions on RDA Northern Rivers will become vacant from June 30.
Senator Williams said RDA committees are part of a national network made up of local leaders who assist in the economic development of their region, volunteering their time and energy to develop solutions to local issues.
"We need people with skills, experience and knowledge to strengthen networks with the business community, education sector, local industry, and all levels of government, to help drive regional economic development," he said.
As well as providing advice in critical issues, RDA committees enhance awareness of Australian Government programmes and assist in the development of project proposals including advice on funding including the $1 billion National Stronger Regions Fund.
"I encourage people in the Richmond electorate to consider applying for a position," Senator Williams said.
The Expression of Interest form and other details are available at www.rda.gov.au or by contacting 1800 505 938 and must be lodged by April 7.
