SAE to teach you how to wow Flickerfest

IF YOU want to know how to make a film that wows international film festivals, SAE has something just for you.

Flickerfest Director Brownyn Kidd will deliver a free two-hour Filmmaking Masterclass at the SAE Creative Media Institute on Wednesday, April 8, for aspiring and current filmmakers from the Northern Rivers.

Providing unique insight into trends and tastes of the short film festival circuit, Ms Kidd will discuss what makes a short film irresistible to Oscar-qualifying film festivals and highlight ways to target small and major Australian film festivals.

She will also outline how to make money through effective distribution of your short film and how to make a film market-ready.

"If you're making short films, it's vital that you understand the trends and tastes of the current festival circuit," she said.

"The masterclass has been designed for anyone with a passion for film; from school leavers to accomplished filmmakers."

The Byron Bay masterclass, being held from 4-6pm at the Byron Bay campus, is the final stage of a national tour hosted by SAE.

The Australian CEO of SAE, Joseph Anthonysz, said the institute is committed to sharing industry knowledge with current and prospective students.

"By engaging industry experts like Bronwyn Kidd, we ensure that our students are learning from and connecting with the most influential and knowledgeable players in the creative industries," he said.

SAE will also be hosting an Campus Information Night on Thursday, 16 April from 6- 9pm. Prospective students and parents/guardians are invited to tour world-class facilities, meet academic staff and chat with students and graduates.
