State of Origin: The one tackle that made JT smile

QUEENSLAND  five-eighth Johnathan Thurston could not help but smile about one of the 15 tackles he made during last night's gripping 11-10 State of Origin win.

Because the man on the end of his jarring, driving tackle that he said would make his career Origin highlight reel was none of other than NSW enforcer and his constant defensive stalker Beau Scott.

Scott took just two minutes to renew acquaintances  with Thurston, belting with a classic ball and all tackle.

But JT finally got his revenge just before half time driving up into Scott with a great tackle off his try line with team-meat Aidan Guerra coming over the top.

"It was just a little bit satisfying, that's all," grinned Thurston before breaking into his famous cackle laugh.

"I'm not the only half that gets targeted by Beau, that's why he is in the team, he does that to everyone.

"(But) .. It was nice to get one shot on him at last and hopefully I can get another one."

Thurston said Scott did a very good job in nullifying players which was hos job.

"He got me there once or twice but our middle third did a fantastic job and laid the platform for us.

"We played up the middle a fair bit and exposed them."

Thurston underlined his place as one of the game's greats playing his 31st straight Origin since 2005.
