Stolen: Car swiped from Bowen campsite while owners slept

A THIEF swiped car keys from a table at a Bowen campsite before taking off with a vehicle.

The green 2005 Mitsubishi Pajero with Victorian registration number 1QS 6ME was stolen from the campsite on Banyan Dr, Bowen, between midnight and 5am yesterday.

Police say the thief entered the campsite and took car keys from a table while the vehicle owners were asleep in a nearby tent.

The keys were then used to steal the nearby parked car.
