Infant block at Bli Bli State School gutted by fire
THE infant block at Bli Bli State School has been gutted by fire which police believe could have been deliberately lit.
The Bli Bli State School Parents and Citizens group posted on Facebook last night that the building had been extensively damaged by fire.
"The police are currently in attendance with the fire brigade and crime scene attendants and the buildings are off limits to everyone for the moment.
"Mr Quinn is in attendance and will be assisting the fire squad and organising alternative classrooms for those classes affected and we assure you that classes will be held as normal on Monday."
Police confirmed this morning they are investigating the blaze.
Around 9.40pm, police were called to the educational facility on School Road to find a building well engulfed in flames.
The building was extensively damaged as a result of the blaze.
The Criminal Investigation Branch is investigating.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, but police are treating it as suspicious.
