Sydney Weekender has its eyes on the North Coast
LOCAL accommodation, produce and boutique shopping will feature in a new episode of Sydney Weekender, thanks to a partnership with the NSW Government.
Parliamentary Secretary for the North Coast, Chris Gulaptis said the episode, secured by the NSW Government's tourism and major events agency Destination NSW, was part of a new publicity campaign aimed at inviting visitors to uncover their own North Coast adventure.
"The NSW North Coast is the number one regional destination in this State and we are delighted that Sydney Weekender will be showcasing this wonderful region to potential visitors this Sunday," he said.
"Whether its experiencing Bryon Bay's pristine beaches, exploring the lush hinterland or indulging in the world class food and wine, the North Coast is a region filled with hidden gems."
The episode will air at 5:30pm Sunday on the Prime Network and will feature Elements of Byron, Newrybar Merchants, Harvest and The BlueGreen House.
Minister for Trade, Tourism and Major Events Stuart Ayres said in the in the year ended September 2015, the North Coast welcomed 11.3 million international, domestic and day-trip visitors who spent $3.4 billion.
"These figures cement the importance of promoting such destinations and Sydney Weekender provides the ideal platform through which to do this," Mr Ayres said.
"Our partnership with Sydney Weekender allows us to leverage our fantastic campaigns and provide audiences from across the State with added inspiration to explore NSW."
