Taulagi wings in for debut

RUGBY UNION: Reds livewire Jamie-Jerry Taulagi will make his eagerly-anticipated Super Rugby debut tonight after being named on the wing for the clash against the Western Force at Suncorp Stadium.

Taulagi (pictured) left a good impression on Reds fans during the team's trial match against the Melbourne Rebels, scything his way through the defence with his first touch.

He averaged a try per game in 13 appearances for University in the Brisbane Premier League in 2013, before signing a two-year deal with the Reds.

His inclusion is one of two changes to the starting side that defeated the Stormers 22-17 last weekend, with injuries to Dom Shipperley (hip flexor) and Lachie Turner (ankle) forcing a reshuffle in the back three.

Ben Lucas will earn his first start of the season at fullback.

Reds coach Richard Graham said Taulagi's addition would provide the team with another potent attacking threat.

And Lucas also appeared to offer plenty as a replacement winger against the Stormers last weekend.

The Waratahs will be without superstar fullback Israel Folau, who is still recovering from a bruised throat suffered against the Rebels on March 21, for their clash against the Stormers in Cape Town tomorrow morning.

The Tahs have only beaten the South African outfit twice from eight games at Newlands Stadium.
