Happiness found at Lismore pub. Tonight. Seriously.
WHAT makes us joyful? How do we make a good life?
Is all that ancient wisdom about happiness just hippie hogwash, or can we prove it with science?
The first event in the Science Walks / Science Talks program is Science In The Pub where drinkers and thinkers will discuss the Science Of Wellbeing at the Southern Cross University Unibar.
Have you ever wondered is there a 'science' to happiness? And how can you become a master of wellbeing? What is the happiness index? Why are some countries choosing to adopt it as a measure of progress rather than the GDP? How do individuals 'function' best in society? What makes a flourishing community?
Then tonight's Science In The Pub event is for you.
Fresh from COP21 and back in the Northern Rivers for the launch of the 'Making a Sustainable World Pop Up Exhibition' the Northern Rivers Science Hub is excited to welcome Andrew Willoughby as its guest presenter.
Mr Willoughby said, "The thing that a really excites me about wellbeing science is that for the first time there is a science that I'm really interested in."
"We can now connect ancient wisdom and science, and check things out.
The exciting thing is that so much of ancient wisdom is actually being affirmed by what science is discovering," he said.
5:30pm tonight (April 5) at the SCU Unibar.
