The truck crash was earlier reported as being at Clothiers Creek, but was further north on the highway.

UPDATE, 4.55pm: A MAN is being treated after a truck crash on the Pacific Hwy.

A NSW Ambulance spokesman said the male driver of the truck was removed from the cab in about two minutes by rescue crews.

He said the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter was called to the scene about 4pm, but was not required.

Tweed District Rescue Squad spokesman Drew Carr said the truck had been travelling in a southbound lane before the incident.

"He was travelling southbound and crossed the northbound lanes," Mr Carr said.

He said the truck then plunged through a paddock, over a cane drain and came to a rest in a cane paddock.

TDRS crews used a rescue board to remove the driver, a man believed to be in his 60s, from the vehicle.

He was taken to hospital by road ambulance in a stable condition.

It's understood the truck was carrying frozen chicken.
