WHEN Stuart George, Tiny Lolback and Darren Goodwin came up with the idea of a Northern Rivers truck show over a beer in 2011, little did they realise the rate it would take off.

"It was something we decided to have a go at after discussions with local truck drivers in a pub one afternoon," said Mr George, president of Casino Beef Week.

Three years later the Casino Truck Show, run by the Beef Week Promotions Committee, has become a roaring calendar event, attracting crowds of 600 people and more than 110 prime movers which parade through the CBD.

Mr George said this year's event was set to be the biggest yet.

Adtrans Used Trucks has come on board as the naming sponsor in 2014.

The street parade will kick the day off at 11am with marshalling to start at 7.30am. Entry is $30 per truck (bob tail only), granting entry to the show for the driver and a passenger.

Optimus Prime and Ned Kelly rigs will be among the convoy.

After the procession, trucks will be parked and judging will begin. The presentation will be held at about 2.30pm with 60 trophies up for grabs.

Attractions include a licensed bar, live music, food stalls, kids' rides and activities, ScuzzTrans Ute Muster and helicopter joy flights.

The NSW Fire Brigade and the Casino VRA will set up static displays.

Showgoers will also enter the draw to win two tickets to the Gold Coast 600.

Catch the Casino Truck Show this Saturday at the Primex Show Grounds.

Entry is $5 and kids are admitted free.
