Woman charged with 44 offences relating to ice supply

A 35-year-old Queensland woman has been charged by Richmond LAC Detectives from Strike Force Mitla with 44 offences relating to the supply of prohibited drugs (ice) yesterday.

Police allege the woman supplied 592 grams of methylamphetamine, and two litres of ephedrine, and was involved in the illegal supply of seven firearms.

Strike Force MITLA was formed by Richmond LAC Detectives in September 2014 to investigate the supply of methylamphetamine and the illegal sale of firearms in the Richmond Local Area Command.

Last month police charged six people with multiple offences including supplying a commercial quantity of prohibited drugs, illegal sale of firearms and participating in a criminal organisation.

Police have executed 10 search warrants, including eight in one day in the Casino and Lismore areas.

Police will allege the woman charged yesterday was supplying the drug methylamphetamine, also known as 'ice, to a local syndicate in the Casino and Lismore areas.

She appeared in Tweed Heads Local Court yesterday afternoon and was remanded to appear again at a later date next month.
