Man stabbed in the chest, goes for a ride on his bicycle

Alexandra Patricia Pichel, 44, of Botany in Sydney faced Tweed Heads Local Court on Wednesday, charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possessing a prohibited drug.

Police allege Pichel and the alleged victim, Darren McKeown, engaged in an argument at a Tweed Heads home shortly before 10.30pm Tuesday.

Pichel allegedly stabbed McKeown in the chest before he left the home and rode his bike to another home, in Coolangatta.

When he arrived at this home, McKeown collapsed before neighbours contacted emergency services, police said.

He was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment in a critical but stable condition.

Pichel was initially refused bail by police, but was granted it by the court.

No plea was lodged on her behalf.

She is due to reappear on September 9.
