Workers to hear from Queensland Nickel administrators
SACKED workers and out of pocket creditors will hear from Queensland Nickel's administrators for the first time today.
Administrators FTI Consulting will host the meeting in Townsville - two weeks after the Clive Palmer-owned company sacked 237 workers.
Mr Palmer on Tuesday said he had "no personal responsibility" for sacked workers entitlements.
He told media outside an Australia Day function on the Sunshine Coast he had "retired from business over three years ago" despite leaked QNI emails suggesting Mr Palmer played an active role in approving purchases using the alias "Terry Smith".
If Mr Palmer is found to have been a "shadow director" and helped operate the company while knowing it was insolvent he, and other directors, may be personally liable for debts.
The creditors meeting will be held at 10am on Friday morning.
